Happy Fall and Happy October! And a new month means a new celebration for the October Pet of the Month! This month's award goes to...Odie!

Odie is this really adorable siamese mix who has a similar story to Hoss. During my first few visits with Odie, he was this very shy kitty who I could sometimes lure out with the temptation of his wand string but mostly he would hide in corners trying to stay as far away from me as possible.

I sat patiently and quietly near him during every visit though and eventually he decided it was okay to come and sniff me out. And then I earned enough of his trust to pet him. Slowly, he became more energetic and playful and even purred while he rubbed up against me! Even better, since he started warming up to me, his brother Loki (who's even more shy) also showed more interest in me!

Odie is such a cutie when he plays. He has this lazy attack where he lays on the floor and chirps at the toy until at some unexpected moment he finally pounces! He is such a fun litle guy to hang out with!

If you can't tell yet, I absolutely love working with pets especially when I get to see the really shy ones come out of their shells and learn to trust me. It is so rewarding!

So in honor of your bravery and courage, this month goes to you Odie! I hope I get to see you again soon!
